OUAT going a little meta.

hahahaha! Yes, I caught that too! As soon as she said that, I thought "Is this A&E’s tribute to the many fans that are really unhappy with them for the past several seasons? myself included LOL"

Will I be satisfied with OUAT portraying Swan Queen as a sisterly relationship? Will I like it more than just seeing their relationship being completely ignored? YES!

gleek4snix:

I know that you all are pissed that they are making Elsanna/Swan Queen parallels and making it look like Regina and Emma have a sisterly bond instead of a romantic one, I get it. I’m kinda pissed at it too.

It is clear that they heard Swen when we threatened to stop watching the show and they are…

I think it’s a cop out which panders to a homophobic audience. The sister / friendship thing would have worked if that’s how Swan Queen had started out. But they are not sisters & they spent two seasons as enemies. Now Emma is obsessed with Regina. That’s not a sisterly relationship. Nor is it just friendship. No matter what they say, the relationship is written romantically. It may not be intentional but that’s how it plays. I know it’s like a broken record saying, “if one of them were a man, the relationship would be canon as romantic.” However, it’s so very true. Buffy/Spike. Elena/Damon. Emma/Hook. Robin/Regina. The hero/villain trope is romantic. The genders involved shouldn’t change that dynamic…

Whatever entity Regina ends up across from with her demand that villains get happy endings, I hope that entity points out that actually, all the villains in Storybrooke except for Regina have it pretty good: Rumplestiltskin got to marry his true love Belle. Robin Hood, a thief, has his Maid Marian back from the damn dead. Dr. Whale is the head of a thriving medical practice. Captain Hook ended up with the Savior, Emma. It’s really only the Wicked Witch, Cora, Maleficent, and Regina who are being held 100 percent accountable for their misdoings in this world. I wonder why that is.
